The story of vocal sacred music during the centuries

With this program we propose a selection of musical pieces representing every period of sacred music evolution: we start from Gregorian chant to arrive to modern Authors.

It's an interesting comparison between different epochs, where we'll meet some "returns of style": the gregorian chant, for example, returns harmonized in different forms, till the starting of vocal polyphony - just see the “Ave Maria” by Tomàs Luis de Victoria, or the “Regina coeli” by Domenico Bartolucci.

Authors:

Tomàs Luis de Victoria, Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, Luca Marenzio, Johann Sebastian Bach, Quirino Gasparini, Anton Bruckner, Domenico Bartolucci.
